About

We got tired of watching good businesses run on paper.

Flintholt builds websites and the software behind them for small UK businesses — the kind with a paper diary, a spreadsheet of prices, and a WhatsApp group doing the job of an ordering system.

Where the name comes from

Flint is the stone the South Downs are built from, and the thing you strike to make a spark. A holt is a small wood — an old English word that turns up all over Sussex place names. Together they sound like somewhere that has always been there, which is roughly the point: the software should feel like part of the business, not a subscription bolted onto the side of it.

Why we split from GB3D

GB3D started in 3D scanning and grew into building software, and for a while it did both under one name. That was confusing for everyone. An architect looking for a measured survey and a plumber looking for a booking system are not the same customer and should not have to read past each other to find what they came for.

So the two are now separate.GB3D keeps 3D scanning, measured surveys, point clouds and digital twins. Flintholt takes websites, web apps and business tools. Same people, same workshop, two front doors.

How we actually work

We start by asking what you do by hand, and how long it takes. Quite often the answer is that you need a better website and nothing else, and we will say so — a booking system fitted to a business that gets four enquiries a month is a tax, not an upgrade.

When software is the answer, you get a fixed price before anything starts, a working version you can click through long before it is finished, and a handover that involves a person rather than a PDF.

The one thing we will not do

We do not rent you your own business. The code and the database are yours outright. The monthly plan buys hosting, backups, updates and support — cancel it and everything keeps running, and we will help you move it wherever you want. Nothing gets switched off, and nothing gets held hostage.
